Biafra: Produce Nnamdi Kanu Or Lose ₦300m Bail Bond, Justice Nyanko Tell Sureties

Justice Binta Nyako, of the federal high court sitting in Abuja has ordered Sen. Eyinnaya Abaribe and two others who stood sureties for the leader of proscribed IPOB , Nnamdi Kanu to temporarily forfeit their ₦100m bail bond each.

She ordered that the bail bond of ₦100 million should be converted to cash and paid into the court’s account.

She added that the money should be paid within two months of the order and would be permanently forfeited if within 6 months if they are unable to produce Nnamdi Kanu.

The court also varied the bail condition given to Mr Kanu in his trial for alleged treason.

Naija News recalls the three sureties who guaranteed his bail had been made to sign a bail bond of ₦100m each which was backed by their landed assets whose documents were deposited in court.

Sen. Abaribe wants the Israeli ambassador to confirm if Nnamdi Kanu is truly in Israel.
He said as a surety, he'll forfeit N100m bond or go to jail if he & other two sureties don't present d criminal.

Presiding judge, Justice Binta Nyako adjourned to March 28th 2019 for the hearing of the motions filed by the sureties, challenging the duties imposed on them to produce Kanu.
