Court Orders Arrest Of Akwa Ibom APC Guber Candidate Over ‘N2.4bn Fraud’
A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Rivers State, south-south Nigeria, has issued a warrant of arrest against Nsima Ekere, the Akwa Ibom State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, over an alleged ₦2.4 billion fraud.
Naija News reports that the court issued the warrant of arrest on Wednesday with charge number PMC/MSC/15/2019, following Ekere’s plan to boycott court judgement.
The court presided over by Sir. S. D. Andrew-Jaja also issued the warrant of arrest against the Director of Legal Services, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Kaltungo Moljengo, for conspiracy to prevent execution or enforcement of a lawful order.
Addressing a press conference in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, V. C. Edward Ekpo, the lawyer representing Multi-Intelligence Development Limited, said, “In 2011, NDDC awarded contracts to four companies.
“Having executed the job worth over ₦2.4 billion were denied payment after obtaining loans from banks, individuals among other financial institutions to service the contract,” Ekpo said.
