Oyo Governor Declares Asset Worth Over ₦48bn

The governor of Oyo State, southwest Nigeria, Seyi Makinde, has publicly declared his assets, worth over ₦48 billion.
Naija News reports that the governor declared his asset in a statement issued by Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa.
According to the statement, the Oyo state governor had cash at hand and in the bank worth ₦234,742,296.01, as of May 28, 2019.
Governor Makinde also has cash valued at $30,056.99 as at the same date.
In the same vein, properties, including the developed and undeveloped as well as household items indicated on the asset forms, showed that Makinde is worth ₦2, 624,800,500(two billion, six hundred and twenty-four million, eight hundred thousand, five hundred Naira) as at the date of asset declaration.
Governor Makinde also declared properties, developed and undeveloped as well as household items valued at $4,400,000(four million, four hundred thousand dollars only).
Similarly, the governor declared, in South African Rands, buildings and household items worth four Million, four hundred and fifty-seven thousand, five hundred and fifty-four and four South African Rands.
After doing this, Governor Makinde said he has fulfilled one of his campaign promises and encouraged members of his team to do the same.
