N37bn Survival Fund Released To Nigerians – FG Confirms

President Muhammadu Buhari led government has confirmed the release of ₦37billion for Nigerians in the Survival Fund.

Naija News understands that the development was revealed on Monday, February 8 by the president’s spokesman  Laolu Akande, during a meeting presided by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa.

Ministers and heads of agencies were said to have reported further progress in the implementation of the Economic Sustainability Plan of the Muhammadu Buhari administration during the meeting.

The ₦37billion Survival Fund released covers ₦50,000 Payroll Support for three months to over 300,000 beneficiaries, one-time grants of ₦30,000 to 100,000 artisans, and 100,000 business name registrations paid for by the federal government.

On his part, Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele reported disbursement of over ₦192billion for household/MSMEs grants to 426,000 beneficiaries across the country, with plans to do over ₦100billion more in that category named Targeted Credit Facility.

The CBN governor revealed that there are ongoing grants of concessionary loans from between ₦150,000 to ₦2.5million under the collateral-free Agric-Business/Small & Medium Enterprise Investment Scheme. Over ₦106billion was said to have been disbursed to no fewer than 27,000 beneficiaries.
