Peter Obi Meets Ex-South African President, Thabo Mbeki Over Presidential Election [Photos]

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has met with the former President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, over the just-concluded presidential election.

Naija News reports that the former Governor of Anambra State made this known in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday evening.

Obi stated that his meeting with the Head of the Commonwealth Observer Mission to Nigeria and his team for the second time is part of ongoing election-related consultations.

The LP standard bearer added that the discussions were quite constructive.

He wrote: “As part of ongoing election-related consultations, I have met twice with the former President of South Africa and Head of the Commonwealth Observer Mission to Nigeria, H.E. Mr. Thabo Mbeki, and his Team. The discussions were quite constructive.”

Peter Obi Receives Female FCT Senator-elect, Kingibe [Photos]

Obi has congratulated the female Senator-elect of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), who won the seat under the party’s platform, Ireti Kingibe.

Naija News reported that Kingibe was part of the Senators-elect who received their Certificates of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday.

The Chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, presented the certificates to the winners of the just concluded senatorial elections held on February 25 at the National Collation Centre (International Conference Centre), Abuja.

In a tweet via his Twitter account on Wednesday evening, Obi said the emergence of Kingibe as the senator-elect for the FCT is in keeping with the party’s commitment to women and youth.
