President Tinubu Hosts Supreme Council Of Shari’a Delegation In Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu has met with members of the Supreme Council of Shari’a in Nigeria.
Naija News reports that the President, on Wednesday, received the Islamic leaders inside the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The details of the meeting are yet to be made public as of the time of writing this report, but it is understood that the Islamic scholars are n a courtesy meeting with Tinubu for the first time since he assumed office on Monday, May 29, 2023.
The Supreme Council of Sharia is a body of Islamic scholars and leaders in Nigeria. It was founded in 1990 to promote the teachings of Islam and to defend the rights of Muslims in Nigeria.
Sheikh AbdurRashid Hadiyatullah is the current President of the Council.

Meanwhile, the President played host to top leaders of various Islamic sects at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
Naija News reports that the Islamic leaders comprising notable members of the Izala and Dariqa sects in the country, including Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and Sheikh Bala Lau, among others, met with the Nigerian leader yesterday over the ongoing crisis brewing in the neighbouring Niger Republic.
The clerics are said to have obtained President Tinubu’s approval to mediate in the Niger Republic crisis as calls for a diplomatic resolve heighten amid reports of a planned military invasion.
