Brighton Sign Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie, Rivers United Appoint Yemi Olanrewaju As Chief Coach

Brighton and Hove Albion have announced the signing of Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, on a free transfer from Paris FC.
Chiamaka Nnadozie, 24, will officially join the English club on July 1 when her contract with the French side expires.
Nnadozie, who made her senior debut for Nigeria in 2018, has earned 55 international caps and brings valuable experience from the UEFA Women’s Champions League, having featured 16 times in the competition for Paris FC between 2022 and 2025.
Brighton manager Dario Vidosic expressed delight at the acquisition, describing Chiamaka Nnadozie as “a talented and commanding goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line.”
“We’re confident she’ll add both depth and drive to a squad already full of ambition as we continue to build for next season,” Vidosic added.
Meanwhile, in the Nigerian domestic scene, Rivers United have confirmed the appointment of Yemi Olanrewaju as the club’s new Chief Coach, replacing Evans Ogenyi, whose contract recently expired.
Olanrewaju, a former Golden Eaglets assistant coach, was dismissed by Enyimba midway through last season but now reunites with Finidi George, under whom he previously worked at the Aba-based club.
He is expected to resume duties immediately as Rivers United ramp up their preparations for the new campaign, having kicked off pre-season training last week Monday.
Note that Finidi’s side finished second in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season.
