Callum Wilson Confirms Exit From Newcastle United

Former England international Callum Wilson has announced his exit from Premier League club Newcastle United earlier today, July 7.
Recall that Callum Wilson joined Newcastle United from Bournemouth on a transfer fee worth £20 million in 2020. Unfortunately for the 33-year-old forward, he struggled with injuries during his five-year spell at Callum Wilson.
Last season was the most difficult for Wilson’s spell at Newcastle United. He suffered both back and hamstring injuries during the season. He managed to make just 18 appearances in the Premier League.
Before his contract officially expired on June 30, Newcastle United and Wilson tried to extend their relationship but failed to reach an agreement.
Before his exit from Newcastle United, Callum Wilson made 130 appearances in which he scored 49 goals.
In his statement announcing his exit, the Englishman said, “All good things come to an end”.
He added, “To all you Magpies, it’s time to say goodbye after an unbelievable few years at the Toon.
“Thank you for everything. We stood strong together through the highs and some lows to help the club experience new heights.
“I am so proud to have worn the iconic number 9 shirt and to have added a little more history to it.
“Scoring at the Gallowgate end really is as special as they say.
“All good things come to an end, but there’s no doubt Newcastle United will always have a place in mine and my family’s hearts.”
At the time of writing, Callum Wilson has no concrete offer on the table. However, several Premier League clubs and some Major League Soccer sides are said to be interested in the Englishman.
