2027 Coalition: I Won't Join Atiku, David Mark In ADC – Abba Moro Declares

Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, has stated that he sees himself as a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has no intention to quit the party.

The lawmaker stated this on Tuesday while dismissing claims that he is harbouring plans to join the coalition of opposition leaders planning to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 election.

Speaking via a video he shared on his Facebook page, Moro argued that it is inappropriate for opposition leaders, who recently adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the official platform to contest the 2027 election.

He said, “I was one of the first persons elected on the platform of PDP precisely on 8 December 1998 during a local government election. I contested to be the chairman of Okpokwu LG in Benue State, and I won.

“I have never defected or joined any other party. Even as I am talking now, I’m a bona fide member of PDP.

“I have not, and I’m not intending to join any coalition. I think we should approach Nigeria with a serious mind of electing people who are prepared to govern this country.”

Moro added, “I know there are some concerns about the policies of this present administration. I know that people think that enough has not been done, but I think the politics of gang up is not a solution to our problems.”
