Napoli Turn Down New Galatasaray’s Bid For Osimhen, Demand Full Upfront Payment

Napoli rejected Galatasaray’s fresh €70 million offer for the Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen despite financial guarantees being presented.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed on Friday, July 12, that the Turkish giants submitted a formal bid for Osimhen earlier in the day, including bank documents to assure payment. But Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, turned it down.

“Understand Napoli have now rejected new formal proposal sent by Galatasaray today for Victor Osimhen,” Romano posted on 𝕏.

“Galatasaray offered €70m today with bank documents attached for payment guarantees… Napoli president De Laurentiis wants €75m guaranteed and has rejected.”

It is another twist in the long-running transfer saga involving Osimhen, who has been on Galatasaray’s radar for months.

Reports earlier in the summer hinted that a breakthrough had been reached, with both clubs seemingly agreeing to a payment plan that would see the €75m release clause met in structured instalments.

But Napoli’s latest move suggests they are standing firm. The Serie A outfit wants the full €75 million paid in one go, not over time, despite the Turkish club ticking nearly every box Napoli had demanded, including bank-backed guarantees.

This hardline stance could reflect Napoli’s internal push to steer the Super Eagles star toward a more financially rewarding offer from Saudi Arabia.

Osimhen, however, is not interested. The striker, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, reportedly turned down a massive offer from Al-Hilal, showing a strong preference to remain in European football.

Nigerian sports journalist Buchi Laba earlier revealed that Galatasaray had already met the €75m valuation in a previous bid, which was still rejected, raising eyebrows about Napoli’s true intentions.
