Heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk has defeated Daniel Dubois to become the undisputed heavyweight world champion with a fifth-round knockout at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Victory saw Ukraine’s Usyk extend his unbeaten professional record to 24 fights as the WBA, WBC, and WBO champion added his British opponent’s IBF belt to his collection.

Early in the fifth round, Usyk, at 38, some 11 years older than Dubois, dropped his opponent to the canvas and finished the fight emphatically one minute and 52 seconds into the round after his trademark left hook left his British rival unable to beat the count.

“38 is a young guy, remember!,” proclaimed Usyk, in the ring after dropping to his knees in celebration.

Meanwhile, Arsenal icon Thierry Henry has declared that Liverpool won’t retain the Premier League title next season.

Thierry Henry, who attained legendary status at Arsenal, has thrown his full weight behind the Gunners to end their long wait for domestic glory.

Liverpool, under new manager Arne Slot, surprised many by surging to their record-equalling 20th league title last season.

With summer additions like Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez strengthening the side, pundits and fans alike have tipped the Reds to go back-to-back. But Henry believes the time has come for Arsenal to go all the way.

Speaking on Men in Blazers, the Frenchman said: “Do I think that Mikel Arteta is doing a great job? Tremendous job. Do I think he should get the sack? Hell no. Am I going to think we’re going to win the league this year? Yes. It’s been good, it’s got to be better.”

Henry’s statement is a clear show of faith in Arteta’s long-term project at the Emirates, a journey that has seen Arsenal finish second in the title race twice in a row.

Recall that the Gunners pushed Liverpool deep into the final weeks of the campaign last season. With a more seasoned squad, tactical consistency, and a few key signings expected, Arsenal fans will hope Henry’s prediction is not just loyalty speaking.

While Liverpool’s new-look squad under Slot brings plenty of excitement, Henry’s comments have injected a fresh spark into the title race debates. The Frenchman, who lifted two Premier League titles with Arsenal, is convinced that Arteta’s side is ready to take the final step.
