Galatasaray Manager Reveals Club's Plan For Osimhen As He Confirms January Release Clause In Player's Contract

Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen is finally on the verge of sealing a permanent move to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The Turkish reigning champions sealed Osimhen’s move on Sunday, July 20, just hours before Napoli’s imposed Monday deadline.

Osimhen is now expected to undergo medicals as the final step of a transfer that has kept Galatasaray’s supporters on edge all summer.

Wazobia FM’s Onyebuchi Onokala, a reliable voice throughout the prolonged negotiations, confirmed the breakthrough, saying: “Deal done: Victor James Osimhen to Galatasaray on a permanent move.

“Final agreement reached between Napoli and Galatasaray for €75m as Galatasaray meets all conditions set by Napoli.

“Napoli gets 10 per cent of future sales. Victor battled Napoli to accept the fifth offer. Next is to make plans for medicals.”

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said the deal includes €5 million in performance-based add-ons, with Napoli securing a 10% cut on future resale. These add-ons helped push the deal over the line after weeks of tension.

The move marks a full-circle moment for the 26-year-old striker, who had an outstanding loan spell at Galatasaray last season, recording 37 goals and eight assists in just 41 appearances. His form was key in convincing the Turkish side to meet Napoli’s financial demands.

Galatasaray have agreed to pay €40 million upfront, with the remaining €35 million to be settled in structured payments by June 2026.

However, the deal nearly collapsed over financial guarantees, with Napoli wary due to past payment issues involving former transfers of Goran Pandev and Blerim Dzemaili in 2014.

Adding to the back-and-forth, Napoli insisted on an “anti-Serie A” clause, which punishes Galatasaray heavily if they sell Osimhen to an Italian side within two years, a demand that Galatasaray reluctantly accepted.
