Chelsea FC defender, Tosin Adarabioyo, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as part of his ongoing homecoming tour in Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the visit came ahead of a youth football tournament set to be held in his honour at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Wednesday.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in an Instagram post shortly after the meeting, commended the 27-year-old footballer for his achievements abroad and his continued commitment to his Nigerian roots.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governor wrote, “Tosin Adarabioyo, who plays for Chelsea, stopped by to visit while he’s in Nigeria.

“It’s always inspiring to meet young Nigerians making their mark internationally, who remain grounded and stay connected to home.”

Born in London to Nigerian parents, Adarabioyo has represented England at various youth levels, but is yet to make a senior international appearance, leaving the door open for a potential switch to Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

The talented centre-back was part of the Chelsea squad that recently clinched the restructured FIFA Club World Cup, held in the United States.

Naija News understands that Adarabioyo, at different times, have expressed his willingness to play for the Nigeria men’s international football team, the Super Eagles.
