Wike Is A Rascal – Ali Modu Sheriff Reveals Why He Ignores FCT Minister

The former Governor of Borno State and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ali Modu Sheriff, has said that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is working.
Speaking on Monday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the former senator said he ignores the minister’s alleged rascality because he is working.
He noted that Wike’s works in Abuja speak volumes, stressing that there are President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ministers who are not working but lying to Nigerians.
He said: “I’m not a fan of Wike. Wike’s character is that of a rascal, but you cannot take away from him that he has changed Abuja. From the time Abuja was created up to this moment, nobody has worked like him.
“So people like me will ignore his rascality because he is working. There are ministers that are not working but lying to Nigerians. It is not the president’s problem.”
Meanwhile, Ali Modu Sheriff shared some steps for combating insurgency in the country.
He urged the Federal Government to strengthen regional alliances with neighbouring countries as a critical step towards ending the Boko Haram insurgency.
He asserted that peace in Nigeria cannot be restored without meaningful cooperation with neighbouring states.
“What should be done is that we have to have a proper relationship with Cameroon, Chad, and Niger,” he said when asked what must be done to permanently end the Boko Haram crisis.
The former federal lawmaker recalled that during his tenure as governor [from 2003 to 2011], people mistakenly assumed the insurgency was a Borno issue.
“Even my next-door neighbour, then governor of Yobe State, did not believe this had nothing to do with the people of Borno.
“These are problems that were coming from outside Nigeria. Unfortunately for us in Borno State, we are bordered by Chad, Niger, and Cameroon, and it’s all land borders,” he said.
