A passenger who assaulted airline officials on an Ibom Air flight inbound Lagos from Uyo, Comfort Emmanson, has been remanded in prison.

Naija News reports that the Special Adviser to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, made this known in a post via 𝕏 shortly after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), said enforcement action will soon become more frequent in Nigerian airports as unruly conduct by passengers becomes rampant.

Moshood said Emmanson, who was earlier charged in court, has been remanded in the Kirikiri correctional facility.

He said, “The more reason the flying public should be more careful, the unruly passenger on Uyo-Lagos bound Ibom Air, Miss Comfort Emmanson, has been charged to court and she’s now cooling off in Kirikiri.”

Meanwhile, the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has slammed a life ban on Comfort Emmanson from flying any of its member airlines both domestically and internationally.

Naija News reports that this follows Comfort’s assault on Ibom Air crew members during a flight from Uyo to Lagos State.

Reacting to the incident in a statement on Monday, AON’s spokesperson, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, said that all its members have resolved that the lady would no longer fly with any of the airlines and that this decision is indefinite.

AON said with the recent incident involving Nigerian musician, Wasiu Ayinde on Valuelet, and the unruly behaviour of Senator Adams Oshiomhole towards the members of staff of Air Peace, such incidents had become too many and could no longer be tolerated.
