BIOGRAPHY
Kevin George Knipfing, better known as Kevin James, is an American actor and comedian, born on April 26, 1965, in Mineola, New York, United States. The son of Janet and Joseph Knipfing, Kevin grew up in Stony Brook, where he attended Ward Melville High School and, later, at the State University of New York, where he would play on the university’s football team.
He dropped out of college to begin participating in stand-up comedy, becoming one of the most recognized comedians, which would lead him to appear on various talk shows, such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Show with David Letterman , Late Night with Conan O’Brien , among others.
His first big role on television would be with the series Everybody Loves Raymond (1996-1999). Another series that also made him known was The King of Queens (1998-2007), in which he had the starring role over 206 episodes, and for which he would be nominated for an Emmy Award in 2006.
After a small role in the film 50 First Dates (2004), alongside what would be his frequent collaborator, Adam Sandler, Kevin had his first starring role in film with the film Hitch (2005), alongside Will Smith and Eva Mendes. After the success of the film, Kevin continued his film career, appearing in comedies such as I Pronounce You Husband and Larry (2007), Don’t Mess with the Zohan (2008), Mall Hero (2009), Son Like Children (2010) . ), The Master Fighter (2012), Pixels (2015), Memoirs of an International Assassin (2016), among others.
