BIOGRAPHY
Niece of the singer-songwriter José Alfredo Jiménez and daughter of the actor Ricardo Cortés, Lolita Cortés began her career as a child in musical theater with works such as Anita, la huerfanita and Vaselina , alongside the group Timbiriche. At the age of 12 he participated in a children’s singing festival called Juguemos a Cantar (1982), where he participated with a song called “Don Quixote and Sancho Panza” and managed to reach the finals in sixth place and be included in the commemorative album of the festival. She finished establishing her career definitively in musical comedy in Mexico in the play ¡Qué plantan! (1989), in which she played the role of poison ivy and shared credits with other great singers and actors of the time. Throughout the nineties and 2000s, she participated in various projects, both musical theater and works such as Los monologues de la vagina . Since 2004, Cortés was a judge for the different editions of the competition show La Academia .
