Bio (Facts) and age of Matty Matheson
He was born on February 7, 1986 in Saint John, New Brunswick. His family later moved to Fort Erie, Ontario and then to Parkdale, Toronto, Canada, where he grew up. At the age of 19 he moved to Toronto, Canada in 2000. He is one of four children, three boys (Stephen, Matty and Adam) and one girl (Sarah) born to their parents; their father, an engineer named Stephen and his mother, Joan, a waitress.
As a teenager, Matty was known as a troublemaker, although he was also a class clown and always popular. He was friends with everyone and was a king of fun who knew how to take the party to the next level. However, his wild lifestyle always got him in trouble: at some point in his 11th year, he was pepper sprayed by the police.
Matty may have a natural aptitude for butchering meat and whipping up pies, but he never considered being a chef as a career. Nonetheless, it became his ticket to fame. When he moved to Toronto in 2000, he enrolled in Humber’s cooking program primarily because it was the only program in the city that accepted him. There, he discovered his natural abilities and began to enjoy his studies. He was even achieving good grades for the first time.
However, he was known as Toronto’s most talented, irrepressible party freak who gulped down whiskeys like water and took drugs. Two weeks before graduation, his inclinations for the wild took him out of college to tour Canada with a group of friends who were forming a metal band.
After dropping out of school, Matty found a job at Le Sélect Bistro where he learned to make classic French dishes and eventually fell in love with cooking. He moved to another restaurant, La Palette in 2006, where ordering was daily. Confidential cooking (drinking, drugs, partying). Two years later, he moved to Oddfellows, which opened in late summer 2008. All he had to do was cook good food and then party. What kept him in the business, however, was his good cooking skills and his magnetic persona that drew a crowd of onlookers.
Then Parts and Labor opened in 2010 and Matty was there, where he was gaining notoriety as much as his food. However, his savage lifestyle led him to a poor state of health that nearly killed him. After one of his nights out when he was 29, he woke up in pain as if something was gripping his heart and wouldn’t stop. It was a heart attack. It became a decision point for him. He left the hospital five days later and pledged to quit drinking and taking drugs.
You know how to turn resolutions around without dedication. After three months of healthy living, one drink set him back on the road to death. Following interventions from friends, he abandoned his old ways and came out of it pure and has remained so ever since. Although he was afraid at first of losing his friends and his fervor, he found that he became kinder by being sober and doing his thing, cooking.
Years into his new life, he had more responsibilities than he ever dreamed of. He oversees four restaurants, collaborates on an international show with Vice, writes a cookbook and raises the child to a son.
Net value
Matty has strayed from the destructive path of drugs and alcoholic beverages and is creating an empire for himself. He has a net worth of $1 million which is expected to increase in the future.
His wife
Matty is married to the co-owner of wedding boutique LoversLand on Ossington, Trish Spencer. The duo have been together since they were teenagers, although Trish was hesitant to date him at first. An encouragement from her older sister hooked her up to the funniest guy in town, according to said sister. Over the years they have been together and are best friends who support each other in their respective careers.
Her decision to date Matty Matheson turned out to be one of the best decisions of her life. In August 2014, they bonded at his aunt and uncle’s home in Port Dover. Their son MacArthur was born in March 2016.
