BIOGRAPHY
As a child actor, Raymond Ablack appeared in numerous television commercials and advertisements, before landing the role of Young Simba in the stage production of The Lion King at the Princess of Wales Theater in Toronto in the early 2000s. Years later In 2007, Ablack achieved international recognition when he was cast in the recurring role of Sav Bhandari on the Canadian television series Degrassi: The Next Generation (2007-2011). After Degrassi , Ablack worked on several productions, including recurring roles on the television series Orphan Black (2013-2016), the Syfy series Defiance (2015), and the Freeform series Shadowhunters (2016-2018). From 2014 to 2017, Ablack played Gabriel in the web series Teenagers . In 2016, for his performance in the second season, he won an Indie Series Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama. Ablack appears in the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia (2021), playing Joe, a restaurant owner and one of Georgia’s love interests.
